Mask Mandate

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As students begin to return to school this week, I know that many students and their families will be anxious about this as the next wave of covid evolves.

Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to keep your children safe.

You will have read in the media that all students Year 4 and above are now required to wear a mask at school now unless they have a written Ministry of Health exemption.

We will be strictly enforcing this and any students without an exemption, who are unwilling to wear a mask will be sent home. If a student does arrive at school without a mask or causes issues for teachers by not wearing it, they will be sent home.

Students will be able to remove their masks for physical education and this will be outside where possible in Term 1.

We expect all students to be following the advice from the Ministry of Health and if they have been at any of the locations of interest, notably, Soundsplash they must get a negative covid test before coming to school.

And please, if you have a problem with the mandate, don’t send you child to school to be put in the awkward situation of fronting your argument. Please make a time to come in and meet with me to discuss it.

Kind regards

Peter Brooks
Principal
